Bed Set Full
Would it be okay to buy a queen size set for a full size bed?
Hello,
I am having to purchase a new bedding set for my dormroom. The problem is that the one that I want only sells in king/queen/ twin...obviously the king is to big and twin to small. Will the queen be okay with a full?
Thanks
A full size mattress is 54" wide x 75" long (this is also sometimes called a double bed). A queen size mattress is 60" wide x 80" long. FYI: A twin size mattress is 39" wide x 75" long. These dimensions are the standard but manufacturers may vary a bit.
A queen size comforter or blanket might work on a full size bed, but the fitted sheet really needs to be the right size. You could buy the queen set and a separate, plain, full fitted sheet and that would probably be fine.
Although mattresses have a standard for the dimensions, comforters and blankets don't. If you buy a high quality blanket and a cheap blanket, the cheap one will nearly always be smaller, just to keep the cost down. So if you buy a queen set, it might not be too huge for the full size bed; it'll be just a little long, and roughly 8" too wide on each side.
